The Ruth Watkins Memorial Garden
The meditation garden, dedicated on June 14, 2009, was created in honor of Ruth “Ma” Watkins.
Ruth stood up to church authority saying, “You will not close my church. There is still plenty of ministry to do here in Newtown.”
Memorials are a way to honor and memorialize our loved ones by providing financial support to a passion or an organization very dear to their heart… Newtown United Methodist Church.

At our church the Memorials Committee strives to beautify church grounds & enrich church life, while aligning with the ideas and wishes of the congregation. If you are interested in making a donation on someone’s behalf, please contact the church office or make a donation via the following link.
